External Reference for Web Services

by Znuny GmbHcompany

Enables external systems to interact with Znuny tickets using their own reference IDs via the Generic Interface. Automatically creates or updates tickets.

This add-on extends the Znuny Generic Interface with the 'Ticket::ExternalReference' operation. It enables external systems (such as Jira, Salesforce, or ERP solutions) to interact with Znuny tickets using their own reference IDs. When a request is received, the system automatically checks if a ticket with that external reference already exists. If found, the ticket is updated; otherwise, a new ticket is created. This prevents duplicate tickets and significantly simplifies integration, as the external system does not need to store or manage Znuny-specific ticket IDs. The logic can be fine-tuned to update only tickets in specific states or to force the creation of a new ticket if the previous one is already closed.

Features

  • Single API Endpoint

Use a single API operation for both ticket creation and updates, eliminating the need for external systems to track internal Znuny ticket IDs.

  • Intelligent Create-or-Update Logic

The add-on automatically decides whether to create a new ticket or update an existing one based on the external reference and ticket state.

  • Dynamic Field Storage

The external reference number is automatically stored in a configurable dynamic field, ensuring full traceability across systems.

  • Flexible Authentication

Supports agent login, customer login, and session-based authentication for maximum integration flexibility.
